The Details

For this event, we have made an effort to use professionals from other forms of motorsports to run the show, allowing the karting community to see how things can be done at the top level. We have partnered with Dave Dusick and his staff at Race Track Engineering to handle the event operations. Under their guidance, we will be running the newest, state-of-the-art timing and scoring system available from AMB. Raceievers will be used by all competitors to allow the Race Director a direct line of communication to the drivers. Brian Barnhart, a member of IndyCar’s Race Control staff, will be the Race Director, with Matt Long, former national race director, as his assistant. will serve as our official media outlet, distributing all press releases and helping to promote the event between now and race weekend. Race Tech Development will be handling all PR needs, including the drafting of press releases and handling of media inquiries, before, during and after the event. With their help, we will be able to ensure that there is never a lack of communication between the event staff and our customers, participants, fans and sponsors.

The Drivers

In an attempt to show karting competitors the seriousness of our program, and interest in this program from higher levels of motorsports, we have obtained verbal commitments from Sebastien Bourdais, current IndyCar driver, 4-Time Champ Car Champion, former Formula One driver, and Daytona 24 Hours overall winner. Current IndyCar driver Sebastian Saavedra, 1996 CART Champion Jimmy Vasser have also verbally committed, along with more drivers who have shown interest in participation. Indiana non-wing sprint car standout Casey Shuman, a large number of current top level sprint karting front runners, and a great number of other karting genre drivers are also ready to make the cross-over.
